Howdy!

I grew up in the thriving metropolis of Spring, Texas where I attended Klein Collins High School and graduated in 2011. On the Collins swim team I was a 4 year varsity letterman, 3 year regional qualifier, and captain my Junior year. I also ran one season of track and cross country a piece, and was president of the choir my senior year. After high school I attended the great Texas A&M University where I got a BA in Telecommunication Media Studies.

I started teaching in January of 2017 at YES Prep Northbrook Middle School and since then I have moved schools 3 times and I have taught World Geography, World History, AP World History, US History, AP US History, Government, Economics, and Guitar 1 & 2. I started coaching swim in August 2021 at Paetow High School, and became the head coach here at Cinco Ranch in August 2023.

My philosophy on coaching is to provide structure and stability through consistency and discipline so that the athletes on my team can learn and grow academically and physically. I try to balance the rigidity and monotony of a long swim season with an important rule: Don't Waste Fun! There will be consistent opportunities throughout the season for the athletes to play games and have fun and not lose sight of the joy the athletes can have as a team.

Coach Michael Hill Assistant Coach

 Hello,

Spending the majority of my childhood in east Texas, I graduated from Union Grove High School in 2000. It was here that my love of sports and competition grew and I participated in football, basketball, cross country, and track & field. After high school, I attended East Texas Baptist University where I studied history with a minor in English and received teaching certificates for History, Social Studies, English, and an endorsement for ESL.

In 2015, while working for another school district, I was casually offered a position as an assistant swim coach. Accepting that offer has been the best career decision of my life. After two years, I was serendipitously offered a position here at Cinco Ranch where I have been Peter’s assistant for the past four years.

As my professional life navigated its meandering river of good fortune, I also worked to grow my family with my wife, Lindsay. We met in a Chili’s (as all good relationships begin). In 2011 we married; we moved to Houston in 2012. In 2016 We decided to build a home in Katy and on September 27th of 2019 our family grew by one as we welcomed our daughter, Hadley. The three of us currently reside in Katy with our dog, Bon Jovi, and hope to continue establishing ourselves in this wonderful community.
